Tram merupakan moda transportasi alternatif dalam mengurangi kemacetan kota. Selain itu,
permasalahan polusi juga membuat daerah perkotaan membutuhkan kendaraan yang ramah lingkungan.
INKA harus mampu menghadirkan moda transportasi yang dapat menjawab permasalahan kemacetan
serta ramah lingkungan. Untuk itu dilakukan pengembangan prototipe Tram dengan sumber tenaga
baterai yang telah selesai dikerjakan pada tahun 2019. Tram Baterai sangat sesuai untuk diaplikasikan
pada daerah perkotaan, utamanya pada daerah yang tidak terdapat listrik aliran atas. Prototipe Tram
Baterai INKA terdiri dari 2 car, mampu berjalan sejauh 25 km sekali charging, dan kecepatan 30 km/h.
Tenaga dari baterai digunakan untuk menggerakkan motor traksi sekaligus menyalakan AC, lampu,
dan komponen-komponen lainnya. Pada akhir tahun 2020, Prototipe Tram Baterai telah diuji jalan
dari Stasiun Madiun ke Stasiun Babadan dengan hasil yang bagus. Atas keberhasilan penguasaan
teknologi penggerak berbasis baterai tersebut, saat ini INKA telah menyiapkan desain Tram Baterai
lain yang lebih sesuai untuk customer dari dalam maupun luar negeri.
Tram is an alternative mode of transportation in reducing city congestion. In addition, the problem of
pollution also makes urban areas need environmentally friendly vehicles. INKA must be able to present
a mode of transportation that can answer congestion problems and is environmentally friendly. For
this reason, the development of a prototype Tram with a battery power source has been completed
in 2019. Battery Trams are very suitable for application in urban areas, especially in areas where
there is no overhead electricity. The INKA Battery Tram prototype consists of 2 cars, capable of
running as far as 25 km on a single charge, and a speed of 30 km/h. Power from the battery is used
to drive the traction motor as well as power the air conditioner, lights, and other components. At the
end of 2020, the Battery Tram Prototype has been road tested from Madiun Station to Babadan
Station with good results. For the success of mastering the battery-based drive technology, currently
INKA has prepared another Battery Tram design that is more suitable for customers from within and
outside the country.
